Tutor Requirements

Be at least 16 years old
Clear background check (if over age 18)
Proficient in subject he/she is teaching
Enjoy working with children
Punctual and professional
Be available Tuesday and/or Thursday evenings

Program Hours

Tutoring will take place via Zoom on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM October - December and January - July.

Schedules

We understand that availability varies for each individual. Each tutor can create a schedule that works for him/her through the program coordinator. Most tutors volunteer on a weekly basis.

Volunteer Hours

Destiny is a 501c3 non-profit organization. All volunteer hours are tax deductible and can qualify as required volunteer hours for various institutions.

Interview & Orientation

Tutors must be interviewed and attend a 45 minute orientation before their first tutoring session. Interviews and orientations will be scheduled by the program coordinator if applicant meets the requirements.

Background Check

For the safety of our children, volunteers over age 18 are asked to complete a background check before volunteering.
